NO BATTERY BACK UP July 27, 2010 J. Whitten (Indianapolis, IN) Why in the world would you not have a battery back up? Living in the Mid West you're going to have weekly if not daily power "flashes" where the power goes out for a split second or maybe even days. It's annoying to reset the clock all the time. I mean, seriously.
A great Multi-Tasker Alarm Clock July 26, 2010 Kimberly Morris (Richmond, Virginia) This is a great product. I wanted something that I could l isten to relaxing music as I fell asleep OR the radio...this has everything I wanted except I can't make cds repeat when they are done playing. I like the input line--that will give me more options with my MP3 player.
Could be better for the price July 11, 2010 nickccrn I purchased this product a couple of years ago for our toddlers room. The sound is great from the speakers, and you can play radio, cd, and ipod. However, for the price it is setup poorly. The volume control is way in the back, and there is no battery back up. Come on sony. For the price, it should have a battery back up for when the power goes out.
ANALOG tuner, and will not actually play MP3 CDs, otherwise fine. July 11, 2010 Kristen I own one of these ICF-CD815 units, have used it for over a year. It's simple to use, and sturdy enough.
The product description (unless they've updated it) says it has a DIGITAL AM/FM tuner, which is not correct. It's the low-tech analog dial; you have to "tune by ear" to get the station you want.
The product description also "suggests" it will play a CD-R disk loaded with MP3 files, which is not correct. But you can play a CDR/RW disc burned in regular audio format, which is still fairly useful.
Built Solid! June 12, 2010 Reviewer_54321 I purchased this product soley because it felt like it was made well. The quality of the unit as a whole seems very nice. Can't believe the quality in this thing for the price. SOLID item, sturdy. I just wanted a CD player that was super small and portable and this fit the bill. Item is still big for clock radio, FYI.
Didn't want a cheap flimsy piece of plastic junk that would break or I had to baby so it wouldn't break. There is SOOO much junk out there now and this isn't like that at all. I just hope the CD player part doesn't die on me in an unreasonable amount of time like some other reviewers wrote about.
