Exactly what I wanted except,it needs a remote control.Other then that it works real good has 2 wake up alarm settings and a sleep timer that I had to do a double take to find,it was on the left side of the device.Sound is good,not like it's my only music source,it wakes me up.It has a good design and the Sony quality

Large Print Time! September 4, 2010

I received this am/fm/cd clock radio yesterday. The time is in larger print than most clocks and the luminosity has a 3 way variable switch. At its brightest its a soft blue, it wont keep you awake at night either.
The sound is good, it was preset with the month/day/year.
You can wake up to radio or cd. When waking up to cd you can choose which track you want to wake up to as well.
All in all, not a bad alarm clock.
BTW, the picture here doesnt do it justice, it looks much better than the pictures give it credit for.

Negative: When playing cd's at a volume low enough to sleep by, sound echoes, like treble needs to be adjusted (but there is no adjustment for it).
Lots of buttons- no problem once you learn where and what each one is. There is a lot of functionality on unit.
Positive: Love the 3 lights (brightest blue is very relaxing)
CD features to play once, continuously or shuffle (mode button) + unit can be set to play any form of music for a designated period of time (sleep button)- very nice.
Sound quality is great at higher volumes (over 4,5).
Radio reception is pretty good, but I taped the short antenna up to my headboard.
Sleek design- nice to look at.
Clock is set from the second it plugs in and automatically changes with daylight savings time.
Sony is going to replace the unit with a refurbished one since I did not contact them until after the 30 day mark (had the unit for about 70 days). Sony Customer service was efficient. I am anxious to see if a replacement performs better.

I always do my homework (extended research) before buying the newest and latest electronics. SONY tech support advised me that this product's first distribution was in July 2007. This product has exceeded my expectations. Today it received the ultimate test when we lost power in our area for over 3 hours. After power was restored this product restored itself without missing one second of time! The backup battery performed brilliantly and didn't show " weak battery" in the display after restoration. Having the option to play your private personalized CD to whatever your heart desires for napping or waking up is truly a blessing. Thank you, SONY...you get it!!!!!
