Product Description
Emerson's patented SmartSet® Automatic Time Setting System. The first time you connect this clock radio to your AC outlet it will immediately set itself to the correct year, month, date, day and time in the Eastern Time Zone. If you live in a different time zone there is one simple Time Zone adjustment to make and you will never see the dreaded "flashing 12:00" display again. It will automatically reset itself every time you have a power interruption, and not just the time but your wake-up times as well. Daylight Saving Time and Leap Year adjustments are also done automatically through the year 2099.

 Good clock radio with middling instructions September 6, 2010

My initial shipment was faulty, but Amazon immediately replaced it and facilitated returning it. The replacement works well. I like the large, bright numerals, easily seen in the dark. The radio is easy to tune and has a nice sound quality. The automated time setting is a nice feature that is to be expected in up to date clocks. The controls are easy to use once you learn them, but the instructions seemed a bit obtuse to me, and it took a while to get everything working satisfactorily.
I would recommend the clock radio to a friend with the sole reservation give above.

I owned the clock for two weeks. On five occasions it did a total reset to Midnight January 1, 2005. I never lost electricity and the battery was good. The customer service staff was great.

The first one of this was just not good in any respect. The 2nd started alright but after it set self it flash went back to 2005 mode. Rather than throw out the window, I reset it manually and has work good every since. I like most of features except the sensor for snooze control.The best thing is how Amazon replace the 1st radio, I was very impress with their service.I think quality control leaves a lot to be desired.

So far after about 30 days I have no complaints. This item works as stated, the instructions were simple to follow and setup was simple. I especially like the no touch snooze that senses my hand when it gets close to the clock and activates the snooze.

I bought this clock mainly for the auto set feature which would allow it to continue keeping time when the power has went out. This clock randomly changed time on me on 3 different occasions. I made sure that I had the correct time zone selected on the clock, but one day the clock skipped two hours ahead. The next morning it was 45 minutes behind. Total piece of junk.
