The Best Alarm for Non Morning People! March 6, 2010 Yolanda I am so excited with my new purchase. As a woman who like most have to work for a living I absolutely hate to get up in the morning. I don't like to talk to anyone, I curse every time I have to get up, I wonder why I can't hit the lotto, and I think about how many sick days I have before I get up out of the bed. This little doo-hickey has made my mornings much more enjoyable.
I have had a history of waking up to buzzers and music and each time the alarm went off, I was ready to slit my wrists. This alarm however, offers the option to wake up to calming, soothing, nature sounds and I gently ease into my mornings instead of being jolted into it. So, I wake up to the rainforest in the A.M. and I experience birds chirping and sway of the trees and I am happy for it......
Bright light, but soothing sleep February 28, 2010 M. D. Rt (Seattle, WA) As others have noted, the lighting on this clock is bright--it does illuminate the room. However, the sound effects are soothing and useful. Overall a good product.
Great item!! February 24, 2010 big e (stlouis) Bought this radio for my 3 month old as a white noise maker. I read reviews for several clock radios before deciding to purchase this one. The sound quality was way better than what I expected, the sounds sound great. Unlike some of the other sound radios, this one doesnt have an obnoxious loop for the sounds. Also impressive is the antenna and sound quality of the FM radio. I turned it on FM just to see how it picked up and it too sounds really good. If youre purchasing this for the alarm clock feature, it does have a small snooze button, but all in all, a great sound maker and radio, very happy with!!!
great idea but horrible execution January 2, 2010 David E. Lee I loved the idea of combining a radio, clock, and sound generator in one unit. The projector was an added bonus. The problem? This thing would be a better night light than a clock. Even on the dim setting, it was possible to make shadow puppets on the ceiling. Seriously, if you are a light sleeper looking for a sound generator, this will do more harm than good. The sounds are mediocre and the buttons are almost impossible to find in the dark.
Performs as Advertised - Solid Multi-function Device December 30, 2009 Tony Ramos (Cleveland, OH USA) I purchased the HoMedics SS-4000 Sound Spa Clasic Delux Clock Radio and Sound Machine (with Time Projection) as a gift for my wife this past Christmas. She was interested in the projection and sound machine functions. Thus far, the device has performed well. The AM/FM radio gets good reception where others have failed, so we are happy in that respect. The sound effects are pleasant and definitely more soothing to wake up to in the morning. The projection function seems to be working fine, but fortunately there is an on/off button available because my wife finds it a bit distracting. The only problem I've seen thus far is that there is no "safety" on the time setting button so it can be activated if you accidentally hit it when trying to snooze or turn off the alarm. So far it hasn't been a problem. More about the time projector. It swivels approximately 110 degrees on one axis (front to back) so you can set it to project straight up to the ceiling or behind the clock on the wall (but not across the room on the far ceiling or opposing wall). The projector lens rotates so it will allow you to position the time display in the correct orientation to your viewing angle. The lens can also be focused by turning the lens clockwise or counterclockwise. The brightness of the time display is adjustable (low and high setting).
